PHC directed KP government to appoint Director for Elementary Education in Grade 20

PHC seeks detailed report from Peshawar, Mardan commissioners on law and order situation

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court gave a one-month deadline to the provincial government for the appointment of the Director of Elementary Education and mentioned that the court will itself appoint the Director if the provincial government does not appoint a grade 20 Director for Elementry Education department.

Hearing the petition of a local person, Justice Sahibzada Asadullah and Justice Farah Jamshed heard the case regarding the appointment of the Director of Elementary and Secondary Education. The petitioner told the court that Naheed Anjum is the junior officer of Grade 19, and holding his charge on this position not her right run the department as Director and Under the law, the said officer can neither be transferred nor carry out other matters. The education officer has been in the post for the last 4 months, which is against the service rules. despite the presence of Grade 20 officers, the government is delaying the appointment.

Remarking on the petitioner’s statement, Justice Sahibzada Asadullah said that for how long will the government run this department through a junior officer despite the presence of Grade 20 officers? Give the government a month’s time, otherwise the court itself It will issue orders in this regard. The court directed the Assistant Attorney General to consult with the higher authorities of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; otherwise, the court will take action next month.
