ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party strongly condemned the alleged mistreatment of its chairman, Imran Khan, and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in Adiala Jail during a meeting on Tuesday.
The party claimed Khan is being denied basic rights, including access to books, legal meetings, and family visits, while being confined for 22 hours daily. Bushra Bibi is also reportedly barred from meeting her husband or family, which PTI called a violation of human rights and court orders.
The meeting also rejected the Election Commission’s decision to disqualify PTI leader Jamshed Dasti, calling it “political revenge.” The party vowed to legally challenge the move, alleging similar “fabricated” cases were used against other PTI lawmakers to benefit the PML-N.
Additionally, PTI condemned the “baseless” assets case against Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan, terming it a targeted attack. The party pledged full legal and political support for its members facing what it called politically motivated cases in Faisalabad.
PTI also criticized rising petrol and sugar prices, blaming government policies for inflation. It demanded action against terrorism after a bus attack in Balochistan killed three civilians.
The party reiterated its commitment to fighting for Imran Khan’s release, constitutional supremacy, and democracy, vowing to continue its movement as per Khan’s directives.
