Anti-corruption court grants interim bail to former KP DG Health

PESHAWAR: The Anti-Corruption court granted interim bail to former Director General Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and directed the anti-corruption team to stop harassing people on political grounds.

According to the lawyer of the petitioner, an anti-corruption department has registered a case against the former DG Health in a 13-year-old case. Cases and inquiries have been initiated against former DG Health Dr. Shaukat on political grounds. He said that former DG Health is being harassed without any proof.

Hearing the petition, Anti-Corruption Court Judge Asif Rasheed said that the court has granted interim bail to former DG Health Dr. Shaukat and the police teams should avoid harassing him in this case.

The lawyer of the petitioner told the court that Anti-Corruption also raided the houses of former DG Health Dr. Shaukat in Timergara and Peshawar. In the case that has been registered, the petitioner has not taken any personal benefit.

The lawyer said that the salary has been taken by two other doctors while he has been nominated in the case without any reason, while his character is also being maligned on social media.
