Special Assistant to KP CM on Forests and Wildlife paid a surprise visit to Peshawar Zoo

PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Forest and Wildlife Pir Musawar Khan made a surprise visit to the Peshawar Zoo and inspected various sections, checking the attendance of officers and staff.

The Special Assistant made a detailed review of the care and facilities of animals and birds in the zoo and their health condition in various cages and fish aquarium, wildlife museum and animal cage houses. The Special Assistant met people visiting the zoo, and obtained feedback on the behaviour and facilities of the staff.

He directed to imposition of a fine on the contractor and took legal action on the complaint of excessive collection of entry fees from the public. The director of the Zoo briefed on foggers, solar systems and other issues for animals, Installation of solar systems for water tanks would saves about seven lakh rupees per month in electricity bills.

Pir Musaware Khan added that, along with regular cleaning of the fish aquarium, more foggers should be installed in the zoo. he said instead of the manual system, a modern collection system should be introduced for collecting entry fees. He said that providing entertainment to the public, especially children, is the top priority of the government.

The Special Assistant expressed satisfaction with the overall arrangements of the zoo, appreciated the performance of the administration.
