Mardan Family turns tragedy into hope by donating Son’s Organs to five disabled patients after the death of 14-year-old Jawad Khan in an accident, which were successfully transplanted into five patients.
This is the first example of posthumous organ donation in the history of the province as Jawad’s family donated his two kidneys, two eyeballs and liver. This bold initiative of the late Jawad’s family gave new life to five patients. Due to the failure of the organs, these patients were desperate for a messiah; however, Jawad Khan’s parents became the messiah for these patients who were desperate for life.
A ceremony was held at the Chief Minister’s House in honour of this philanthropic and bold initiative of Jawad Khan and his family. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur attended the ceremony as the chief guest. The Chief Minister made Jawad’s father, Noordad Khan, the chief guest of the ceremony in recognition of his valuable initiative.
“Only Noordad Khan has the right to sit on the chair of the presidency of this ceremony, Ali Amin Gandapur said. No Chief Minister has given the presidency of the ceremony to anyone else; this honour has come to Noordad Khan for the first time, because he has done great things for humanity,” Ali Amin Gandapur remarked.
The Chief Minister announced that he would send all family members of Jawad on his behalf to Umrah. There can be no better reward than Umrah for the great work that Jawad’s family has done. The Chief Minister also pledged to include a subject in Jawad’s name in the educational curriculum on the wish of Noordad Khan.
Chief Minister added that Jawad’s name could be kept alive only by including the subject in the curriculum as this initiative could also encourage other people to do this good deed. On the demand of Nordad Khan, the Chief Minister announced the immediate construction of a road for Jawad’s native village.
The Chief Minister also announced the naming of a local government hospital after Jawad to pay tribute to his family’s sacrifice. The Chief Minister also announced the establishment of a transplant tower in the province. He said that the selfless and courageous decision of the late Jawad’s family is a historic step in the field of human organ donation.
“No matter how much praise is given for this great work, it is still less. We salute the family’s passion and courage. This selfless step of Jawad’s family will provide a foundation for giving new lives to patients who are disappointed with life in the future,” the Chief Minister said. “Although Jawad’s life was short, the great legacy he left behind will live forever. We all should follow in the footsteps of this family and contribute to this great work. I also pay tribute to the team of doctors involved in this entire process and the officials of the Transplant Regulatory Authority,” Ali Amin Gandapur added.
“Jawad’s father Noordad Khan also addressed the ceremony and said that he is deeply grateful to Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for such encouragement and honor, my son was injured in an accident and died during treatment in the hospital, I decided to donate my son’s organs after feeling the pain of the patients undergoing treatment due to organ failure in the hospital”, Noordad Khan said
He said that it was a matter of great joy for him that the five patients got new lives because of his son, saying that he would work to further advance this mission of serving humanity. The event was also addressed by the Chief Minister’s Advisor on Health, Ehtesham Ali, renowned religious scholar Qibla Ayaz and other speakers. The speakers paid rich tribute to this great initiative of Jawad Khan’s family. A man named Rashid Durrani registered and became the second citizen of the province who will donate organs after death.
