KPITB unveils flagship digital skills program for youth

Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Science and Information Technology, Dr. Shafqat Ayaz, has said that digital transformation and skills initiatives have become a vital need of the hour for youth empowerment and self-reliance.

Dr. Shafqat Ayaz formally inaugurated the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board’s flagship initiative titled “Employable Digital Skills Initiative for the Youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” today at the KPITB office in Hayatabad, Peshawar.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by IT experts, teachers, youth, civil society members, and media personnel in large numbers.

While addressing the ceremony, Dr. Shafqat Ayaz stated:

“It is the vision of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur to empower the youth through modern technology, digital skills, and freelancing so that they can become economically independent.”

He emphasised that the KP government is taking practical steps to create better employment opportunities for the youth, and digital skills programs play a key role in this strategy. Through this initiative, thousands of young individuals will receive free training to connect with the global digital market and secure opportunities in freelancing and online jobs.

Dr. Ayaz further said “We are progressing towards a digital economy. The youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa possess immense potential, and it is the government’s responsibility to harness and showcase this potential by offering them global opportunities.”
The Special Assistant added that the KPITB, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology, will launch more such inclusive programs to benefit not just the youth but also women, persons with disabilities, and students from rural areas.

He said that “The dream of a Digital Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can only be realised by equipping our youth with modern training in technology, coding, graphics, web development, app development, digital marketing, and other essential skills.”
Speaking to media representatives at the end of the ceremony, Dr. Shafqat Ayaz said:

“We consider investment in youth our top priority. This skills development initiative will not only create employment for the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also strengthen the national economy.”
