Hangu Operation: Five Terrorists neutralized, DPO and SHO sustain Injuries

Bannu Police repulse terrorist attack on check post

HANGU: At least five terrorists were killed and District Police Officer Hangu Khalid Khan and SHO Nabi Khan injured during exchange of firing with terrorists in Doaba area on Saturday.

Local sources said that Police and Tall Scouts were conducting an operation against Khawarij in Doaba when terrorist attacked the police patrolling party. As a result of exchange of firing five terrorists were killed while DPO Khalid Khan and SHO Nabi Khan sustained bullet injuries.

After the incident heavy contingent of police rushed the area and shifted DPO and SHO to nearby hospital. The attacked caused fear and panic among the residents and large number of people rushed toward the site to help in the relief activities.

Hango Police still searching Zargiri, Shinaori and other areas to arrest other terrorists. DSP Amjad Khan said that the condition of DPO is stable and soon he will be with them to fight against the menace of terrorism.

Meanwhile terrorists also attacked Bannu CTD headquarter with Quadcopter drone which was targeted by the police without causing any damage. Police said that the explosive were not detonated and the attack was thwarted timely.
