Bannu Police repulse terrorist attack on check post

BANNU: Police repulsed terrorist attacks when armed militants attacked various check posts in Sheikh Landak and Muzanga area of Bannu on Tuesday.

Last night, two checkpoints, Sheikh Landak and Muzanga, were attacked by Khawarij with small and large modern weapons within the limits of Hoveed Police Station, Bannu. An attempt was also made to target the thermal camera technology of the police in the attack.

However, the police personnel repulsed both attacks with a timely and effective response with professionalism, courage and intelligence. As a result of the strong response, the terrorists were forced to flee. While the post building, police installations and personnel remained safe in the attack.

Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed and Regional Police Officer Bannu Sajjad Khan praised the courageous action of the Bannu Police, congratulated all the soldiers and announced rewards, saying that these cowardly actions cannot lower our morale.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police is alert, ready and fully prepared on every front. All such attacks will be responded with a strong and courageous manner in the future as well. He further said that the police force is on the frontline in the war against terrorism, and every possible step will be taken for the protection of the people.
