CHARSADDA: The Traders Federation of District Charsadda staged a strong protest against prolonged electricity load-shedding, warning WAPDA officials to either provide uninterrupted power or face a mass meter removal campaign.
Led by Federation President Lal Muhammad Lal, the demonstration saw participation from business owners, political representatives, and local citizens. Key speakers, including General Secretary Reham Bacha, Ahle Quraish President Irshad Qureshi, and Mobile Association President Shahbaz Bacha, condemned the excessive power cuts harming businesses and daily life.
Lal Muhammad Lal declared that the traders “do not rely on MPAs or MNAs” and will fight for their rights themselves. He issued an ultimatum: “If WAPDA does not rectify the power crisis, we will launch a movement to cut electricity lines and remove meters—responsibility will lie with WAPDA.”
The federation announced daily protests at 6 PM after Asr prayers until the issue is resolved. They also distanced themselves from the upcoming KDC meeting, stating it holds no relevance to their demands.
