The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Awami National Party (ANP), and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) announced on Wednesday that they will boycott the all-party conference (APC) called by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, scheduled for tomorrow in Peshawar. The conference will address the law and order situation in the province.
Leaders from opposition parties have exclusively confirmed to Pakhtun Digital that they will not participate in the All Parties Conference (APC) called by the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), which is scheduled to take place tomorrow in Peshawar.
Abdul Jalil Jan, the spokesperson for JUI-F, stated that the party is opting out of the conference due to the PTI leadership’s neglectful behaviour toward the province.
Similarly, the provincial president of the ANP, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, confirmed in an exclusive statement to Pakhtun Digital that the ANP would not participate in the APC. He mentioned that if the PTI had called for an All Parties Conference as a political party, he would have attended; however, he refuses to participate in an APC organised by the government. Hussain emphasised that the ANP is a people’s party that stands with the public and cannot support any actions that go against their wishes.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) provincial president Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha remarked that the provincial government is unserious and characterised the forthcoming APC as mere showmanship.
“If the government were genuine, issues of peace and order would have been discussed before, but there has been no progress,” said Bacha. He suggested that if the provincial government has finished with its sit-ins and protests, it should focus on addressing public issues.
Bacha confirmed that the Pakistan Peoples Party would also not take part in the APC scheduled for tomorrow.
