ISLAMABAD: TikTok took down nearly 25 million videos from Pakistani users in the first three months of 2025 for violating its community guidelines, according to the platform’s latest transparency report. The removed videos accounted for 24,954,128 pieces of content, with 99.4% detected and deleted by automated systems. Notably, 95.8% of these videos were removed within just 24 hours of being posted.
Globally, TikTok deleted 211 million videos during the same period, representing about 0.9% of all uploaded content. Of these, over 184.3 million were flagged by automated tools, though 7.5 million were later restored after review. The platform employs strict content moderation, with 99% of violating videos caught before users reported them, and 94.3% taken down within a day.
The report revealed that 30.1% of removed videos contained inappropriate mature themes, while 11.5% breached safety and decency rules. Another 15.6% violated privacy policies, and 45.5% were flagged for misinformation. Additionally, 13.8% involved AI-generated or manipulated media. TikTok emphasized its commitment to maintaining a safe digital environment through proactive moderation.
