PESHAWAR: A prominent social figure of Swat and granddaughter of the Wali Swat, Ms. Zebun-Nisa Arshad Jilani, has claimed that Provincial Minister Fazal Hakeem Khan is trying to occupy the historic Wali Swat bungalow, which is tantamount to an attack on the cultural heritage of the people of Swat.
Zebun-Nisa has alleged that in her absence, part of the bungalow has been purchased, and now a conspiracy is underway to occupy the entire bungalow. According to her, it is not just a building but a symbol of Swat’s history, identity and cultural heritage, which will not be allowed to be lost under any circumstances.
She has appealed to Swat’s civil society, legal community, journalists, doctors, business organisations, women, youth and other sections to fully participate in the important meeting to be held at the Wali Swat bungalow on Sunday, July 27, at 3 pm.
“I will not let this occupation mafia succeed under any circumstances,” said Zeybun-e-Nisa Arshad Jilani. “This is not just a building, but the identity of the people of Swat. We must unite and protect our heritage.” She remarked.
It is important to mentioned here that there is large number of National Heritage symbol of Wali Swat in Saidu Sharif Mingora and tourists frequently visits these areas to get information regarding history and culture heritage of these buildings.
