The residents of the South Waziristan Lower have been facing acute water shortage.
The shortage of clean drinking water has become a serious problem in various areas of South Waziristan Lower.
According to the locals, most of the government tube wells are inactive or are not being used by the community, due to which the people are facing severe difficulties in obtaining drinking water. Clean drinking water is not available in most public places, government schools and hospitals, which is not only affecting daily life. Locals say that there is no effective federation for the provision of clean drinking water in Wana and unfortunately, no practical steps have been taken by the government for public facilities at various mosques and government places. The residents of the affected areas have demanded that the authorities concerned take urgent steps to provide clean water in the area immediately. The public has appealed to the provincial government and relevant institutions to activate clean drinking water schemes and start new projects as soon as possible.
