KP Government Expresses Grief Over Tirah Incident, Announces Relief and Dialogue Measures: Ali Amin Gandapur
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the recent tragic incident in the Tirah Valley, assuring full sympathy and support for the families of the deceased and injured.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Gandapur announced a financial relief package, with Rs 10 million (Rs 1 crore) to be provided to each family of the deceased and Rs 2.5 million to each of the injured. He stressed that the provincial government stands shoulder to shoulder with the affected families during this difficult time.
To address public concerns and maintain open channels of communication, the Chief Minister revealed that a grand jirga comprising tribal elders and public representatives has been convened in Peshawar. The jirga will provide a platform for listening to local sentiments and exploring practical solutions to prevent such incidents in the future.
Ali Amin Gandapur also directed the district administration and concerned institutions to strengthen community engagement, enhance public relations, and maintain law and order across the affected areas.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to long-term peace and stability, Gandapur said the KP government is fully devoted to promoting sustainable peace, public security, and mutual respect. He emphasised that the recent All Parties Conference had seriously examined the incident and developed key proposals to ensure accountability and improve response mechanisms.
As part of ongoing efforts for reconciliation and dialogue, the Chief Minister announced a series of jirgas at divisional and provincial levels starting next week. These gatherings will serve to strengthen communication between the government and tribal communities and reinforce a shared commitment to peace in the region.
The KP government’s response comes amid heightened public concern and renewed calls for transparency and justice in the wake of the Tirah Valley tragedy.
