Primary suspect arrested in Swat madrasa student murder case

A primary suspect in the tragic case of Swat Madrasa student murder case has been arrested.

According to the District Police Officer (DPO) Swat, Muhammad Umar Khan. Qari Umar and his son Ehsan, who were allegedly involved in the brutal killing of a child, had fled the scene following the incident on July 21. The child was reportedly tortured to death, sparking public outrage.

Police acted swiftly at the time of the incident, arresting 10 suspects on the spot. However, the primary culprits managed to escape and were later apprehended after what officials described as “tireless efforts.”

DPO Swat praised the police team for their dedication and reiterated the commitment of law enforcement to ensure justice is served in such heinous crimes.

In a significant gathering, the Wifaq-ul-Madaris al-Arabia Pakistan has condemned the recent painful Swat incident where a 14-year-old student was brutally tortured to death in a Madrassah.

Deputy Commissioner of Swat, Saleem Jan, welcomed a representative delegation from Wifaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabiya Pakistan, District Swat, at his office. The meeting focused on the recent tragic incident that occurred in Chaliyar Khwaza Khela, prompting strong reactions from local scholars.

During the meeting, the scholars conveyed their profound sorrow and regret over the incident, distancing themselves from the perpetrator. The delegation included notable figures such as Provincial Nazim Maulana Hussain Ahmed, Assistant Nazim Maulana Qari Muhibullah, Executive Member Maulana Muhammad Tahir, and other respected scholars.

Maulana Hussain Ahmed, addressing the meeting, described the incident as heartbreaking and expressed that it has deeply saddened not just scholars but the entire community. He extended full solidarity to the family of the deceased child and condemned the atrocity in the strongest possible terms. “We publicly state that we have no connection or cooperation with the perpetrator of this heinous crime,” he affirmed.

Highlighting the positive role of registered religious schools and the Federation of Arab Schools Pakistan in societal reform and religious education, Maulana Hussain expressed concern over how the actions of an individual have tarnished the reputation of all schools.

The scholars unanimously called for the swift arrest and severe punishment of all individuals involved in the incident. They pledged full cooperation with police and relevant institutions and announced the formation of a representative committee to maintain communication and offer assistance.
