PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s KP Provincial Minister for Livestock, Fazal Hakeem Khan, has dismissed recent media reports claiming that 80 vehicles from the Livestock Department have gone missing as “misleading and factually incorrect.”
Responding to a news story aired by Mashriq News, the minister clarified that all departmental vehicles are properly accounted for and remain in official use. He explained that some vehicles were being utilized by various wings of the Livestock Department, while others had been lawfully returned to the Transport Department as per standard procedures.
Khan emphasized that complete documentation regarding the vehicles had been submitted to the audit team, reaffirming the department’s commitment to transparency. “No vehicle is in unauthorized possession,” he stated, adding that an inquiry committee has been formed to thoroughly review the matter.
The minister urged media outlets to verify facts before publishing such reports to avoid damaging the credibility of government institutions.
This statement comes after an earlier audit report had raised concerns about the alleged disappearance of the vehicles.
