SWABI: A 42-year-old man shot himself dead after allegedly slaughtering his four minor children in Sara Charuna area of tehsil Yar Hussain in Swabi district in the wee hours of Thursday.
According to Rescue 1122, Swabi, upon receiving an emergency call, reached the area and found the dead bodies of five persons, who were later identified as a father and his four children.
The Swabi police said in its preliminary reports that the victim, Saif-ul-Islam-42 allegedly slaughtered all four children and then shot himself dead with a pistol.
Police added that the victims’ bodies have been shifted to a local hospital in Yar Hussain.
Rescue 1122 identified the victims as Saif-ul-Islam-42; his sons Zia-ul-Islam-12; Abdur Rehman -10; Sana Umar-8, and two-year-old another daughter whose name could not be immediately ascertained.
However, the Swabi lodged an FIR at Yar Hussain police station and began further interrogation of the case.
About the motive behind the incident, police said it seemed to be a domestic dispute as the victim’s wife had gone to her parent’s home, and there had been a dispute between them.
