Central Asia bike rally reaches Peshawar amid warm welcome

The Central Asia Bike Rally, which began in Lahore, has successfully reached Peshawar, according to Tourism Authority spokesperson Muhammad Saad. A total of 11 bikers are participating in this rally.

The Director General of the Tourism Authority, Habibullah Arif, welcomed the bikers upon their arrival. Over the course of 23 days, the bikers will travel through four countries, including Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, starting from Pakistan.

The bikers are set to cover a remarkable distance of 5,000 kilometres on their journey. Habibullah Arif stated that this tour aims to open new pathways for tourism in Central Asia.

Following the directives of Tourism Advisor Zahid Chanzeb, the bikers were provided with various facilities to enhance their experience. Arif emphasised that the bikers are considered guests, and their tour will promote tourism in the region.

While in Peshawar, the bikers also visited the Peshawar Museum, where they were accompanied by Director Umar Khan, curator Bakht Muhammad, and other officials.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said that the Pakistan Army and the People’s Liberation Army are truly brotherly forces of each other and their partnership is firm to play a key role in ensuring stability in the region and safeguarding common strategic interests.

He said this while addressing a grand ceremony held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi to mark the 98th founding anniversary of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), with Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zedong as the chief guest.

The ceremony was attended by officers of the Chinese Embassy and senior officials of the Pakistan Armed Forces. Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir congratulated the PLA on its founding anniversary and termed Pakistan-China defence relations as having stood the test of time.

The Field Marshal said that despite the changing global strategy, the friendship between Pakistan and China has stood firm and unwavering. Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, in his address, praised the role of the Pakistani military in combating terrorism and said that China would further strengthen the strategic partnership between China and Pakistan.

The ceremony paid tribute to the joint role of the two militaries in promoting Pak-China friendship, defence cooperation, and regional stability. Pakistan is also marking the 3rd anniversary of their martyrs today, as three years have passed, the Pak army helicopter crashed in Lasbela.
