Centre should avoid forming self-appointed committees on merged districts: Minister Mina Khan

merged districts

Provincial Minister Meena Khan said that the founding chairman’s voice was always in favour of peace and against operations; his stance is still the same today that military operations and drone attacks should not take place.
Addressing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly session, Meena Khan said that Rs100 billion should be given annually to the merged districts, and the federation should refrain from forming self-appointed committees as it is against provincial autonomy. The federal government should pay our province’s arrears as net electricity profits.
He said that peace has been in danger repeatedly in the past years, and it has repeatedly come to light that elements spreading unrest are becoming active again.
He raised the question of why terrorists are coming from the Afghan border.
Meena Khan said that all political parties were invited to participate in the All Parties Conference (APC) headed by the Chief Minister, but the opposition did not prioritise peace, due to which they did not join the APC. However, it was decided in the APC that unanimous decisions regarding law and order would be taken in the assembly session. The provincial minister, while describing the Action in Aid and Power Regulation as a malaise, said that this regulation is not in the interest of the province, and it should be discussed and withdrawn.
