New registration method, conditions announced for Benazir educational scholarship

Benazir educational scholarship

The government has introduced a simplified procedure and eligibility criteria for registering children under the Benazir Educational Scholarship Program. The primary objective of this program is to encourage children from deserving families to pursue education by providing them with financial assistance.

To register for the Benazir Educational Scholarship, children must visit the nearest Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) office accompanied by a parent or guardian. The designated officer will require the child’s B form and the mobile number that is already registered with BISP. Once this information is provided, the officer will complete the registration process and issue an enrollment slip.

This enrollment slip must be taken to the child’s school and filled out by the class teacher and the head teacher. It is essential to include the child’s class, section, teachers’ names, and other relevant details.

After submitting the completed enrollment slip back to the BISP office, the verification process will take place, following which the scholarship will be granted. To qualify for the scholarship, children must maintain at least 70 percent attendance at school. If a child changes schools, it is imperative to inform the BISP office.

As per the eligibility conditions, the child’s mother must be enrolled in the Benazir Kafalat Program, and it is necessary to provide the child’s B form issued by NADRA.

The age limits for the children are as follows:
Primary: 4 to 14 years
Secondary: 8 to 18 years
Higher Secondary: 13 to 22 years

The quarterly scholarship amounts are:
For female students:
Primary: Rs. 3,000
Secondary: Rs. 4,000
Higher Secondary: Rs. 5,000

For male students:
Primary: Rs. 2,500
Secondary: Rs. 3,500
Higher Secondary: Rs. 4,500

Additionally, a special bonus of Rs. 3,000 will also be awarded to female students who complete primary education.
