pakistan far behind in economy and energy sector

ISLAMABAD: Awam Pakistan Party Secretary General Miftah Ismail has said that Pakistan is far behind than the neighbors in economic, energy sector as prices of electricity in Pakistan was higher than the Bangladish and India.

“You stole 244 billion rupees in electricity, return it to the people, people pay the electricity bill by selling jewelry, why is electricity 25 rupees per unit in Bangladesh and 45 rupees here?

Addressing the workers’ convention of the Awam Pakistan Party, he said that it is also necessary to win the war of education, economy, health and employment with India.

“We will have to fight against ignorance, unemployment and for the development of the economy, only then will Pakistan move forward. Have we freed the people from hunger, poverty and unemployment in 78 years? In the last 6 years, the three major parties of the country have ruled the country” he said.

“We have seen the three major parties but have not seen improvement and development. The PPP has two provinces, the PML-N has a large province of Punjab and the PTI has one province” he remarked.

“How can those who do not know how to clean drains know how to govern? Sometimes people respected their votes and sometimes they don’t. Since 1990, Pakistan has been lagging behind Bangladesh and India. 40 percent of people in Pakistan live below the poverty line. Miftah Ismail said that we don’t say that these sugar thieves, but we can call them those who make sugar expensive” Ismael added.

“People say that if we can’t buy sugar for Rs 140 per kg, how will we buy it for Rs 200? Why is electricity at Rs 25 per unit in Bangladesh and Rs 45 per unit here? Isn’t it the height of cruelty to pay the electricity bill by selling jewelry but not paying the school fees of children? You stole Rs 244 billion in electricity, return it to the people. He said that the rule of law in Pakistan should be of the constitution and not of any individual” he mentioned.
