LAHORE: The highly anticipated Asia Cup 2025 will take place in the United Arab Emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi confirmed as the official host cities, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced on Saturday.
According to the schedule, the marquee clash between Pakistan and India will be held on September 14 at the Dubai International Stadium, which will also host several key matches, including the final on September 28.
The tournament will kick off on September 9 with the opening match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong. Pakistan will begin their campaign on September 12 against Oman, followed by the much-awaited face-off with India two days later. Their final group-stage match is scheduled for September 17 against the UAE—all in Dubai.
Group Stage Format
The eight participating teams are divided into two groups:
- Group A: Pakistan, India, Oman, UAE
- Group B: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four round, which will run from September 20 to 26. The tournament will conclude with the final on September 28 in Dubai.
This edition will mark the third time the Asia Cup is being held in the T20 International (T20I) format.
Meanwhile, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has granted clearance for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to send its team to compete against Pakistan in the tournament.
ACC President Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that all matches will be hosted in the UAE and expressed confidence in delivering a successful event. “I am looking forward to organizing a memorable Asia Cup,” he said.
