PESHAWAR: Senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Speaker of the National Assembly, Asad Qaiser, has revealed that the case against Rana Sanaullah was fake and was based on fabricated allegations.
He said that the founder of PTI himself had expressed his displeasure over this case in the cabinet meeting. Asad Qaiser made it clear that protest is their constitutional right, but our protest would be completely peaceful. There is currently no plan to come to Islamabad; however, a public relations campaign is being launched across the country from August 05.
Asad Qaiser said that the founder of PTI wants the judiciary and parliament to be independent in the country, and all institutions to work within constitutional limits. He stressed that the requirements of justice should be fulfilled, and the founder of PTI should be legally granted bail in all cases.
He added that the PPP had filed cases against Nawaz Sharif, and we do not support political revenge against anyone. He said that the demand for the formation of a judicial commission was made so that there would be a transparent investigation beyond political affiliation.
Speaking on the current political situation, Asad Qaiser said that the PML-N has now become practically ineffective among the people. Factional divisions in parties are not only in the PTI; this problem exists in every party.
He said that the son of the founder of PTI is coming to Pakistan to meet with his father, and the instructions given by the founder of PTI will be implemented. Mashal Yousafzai has been given a party ticket with the approval of the founder.
Asad Qaiser made it clear that he is ready to talk to any force, provided that it is empowered. There is currently no serious attempt at negotiations from the government.
He said that the Election Commission should be given full authority so that it can hold transparent elections and real public representatives can reach the parliament.
Commenting on the arrest of Irfan Siddiqui, Asad Qaiser said that he had personally called the then Prime Minister and informed him, to which the Prime Minister expressed surprise that he was not even aware of the arrest.
The former speaker said that during the PTI government, not only did drone attacks stop, but a trade corridor with Afghanistan was also opened, and the law and order situation in the country was much better as compared to now.
