ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s civil and military leadership strongly condemned India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, marking Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir—the sixth anniversary of India’s controversial revocation of Article 370 in 2019.

PM Shehbaz Sharif’s Statement
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called the Kashmir dispute a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and urged the world to pressure India over human rights abuses in the region. He denounced India’s 2019 move to strip Kashmir’s autonomy and split it into two territories, calling it a violation of international law.

“The Pakistani people stand firmly with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters,” he said, praising their resilience despite India’s oppressive measures, including arbitrary arrests and demographic changes.

President Zardari’s Remarks
President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized that lasting peace in South Asia depends on resolving the Kashmir issue per UN resolutions. He criticized India’s attempts to alter Kashmir’s demographics through new laws and electoral manipulation.
