PESHAWAR: Senior Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf (PTI) leader and former provincial minister Shaukat Yousafzai urged the party’s senior leadership on Thursday to reconsider the expulsion of Sher Afzal Marwat, a member of the National Assembly (MNA) and an active party leader.
Mr. Yousafzai made this statement during a talk show that aired on Samaa TV on Thursday evening.
He emphasized, “Sher Afzal Marwat is a brave worker of the party who remained a strong voice in the hard times. We do not need titles; we seek respect and honor as ordinary party workers.”
He further stated that everyone within the party should be treated with dignity and reminded of the importance of maintaining discipline. However, he stressed that targeting individuals like Sher Afzal is unfair.
Yousafzai concluded by appealing to the party’s top leadership to rethink the decision to expel Mr. Marwat, as it undermines the sentiments of party workers.
After surfacing rift within the party, PTI founder Imran Khan has summoned the chief minister KP, Ali Amin Gandapur and party’s new president for KP Chapter, Junaid Akbar to Adiala jail for a meeting.
