PESHAWAR: The National Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution on the eve of ‘Youmi-e-Istehsal Kashmir (The Day of Exploitation), completely rejecting the unilateral and illegal actions taken by India in occupied Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019.
Kashmir Affairs Minister Amir Muqam presented a resolution on Youmi-e-Istehsal, which states that this House condemns India’s actions on August 5, 2019, which are a clear violation of United Nations resolutions and international laws.
The House reiterated its full support for the right of self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and paid tribute to the courage, sacrifices and bravery of the Kashmiris. The House rejected all unconstitutional actions, internal laws and policies of India and also demanded the immediate release of political prisoners of Kashmir.
The resolution emphasised that the solution to the Kashmir issue should be through United Nations resolutions. The House strongly condemned the atrocities and human rights violations of the Indian forces and also termed India’s provocative statements regarding Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan as unacceptable.
Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Engineer Amir Muqam, said that India had illegally abolished Article 370 and Article 35, martyred thousands of youth and made women widows. He said that India had crossed all limits of cruelty, but the love of Pakistan in the hearts of Kashmiris could not be ended. This unanimous stand of the House on the occasion of the Exploitation Day once again sends a message to the international community that Pakistan stands by the Kashmiri people in their struggle for freedom.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said in his message regarding the Exploitation Day that he reiterates his unwavering solidarity with the Kashmiris, strongly condemns the Indian actions of August 5, 2019, and India has conspired to change the political landscape.
Shehbaz Sharif said that Kashmir Exploitation Day is a serious reminder of Indian brutality, the illegal occupation of occupied Kashmir cannot be maintained, and India has doubled state terrorism. The Prime Minister further said that today is a day to salute the spirit of the Kashmiri people, the detention of leaders and workers cannot weaken the resolve, the wishes of the Kashmiri people are the only way forward, and the solution to the Kashmir issue is an important pillar of our foreign policy.
He demanded that the international community stop human rights crimes in Kashmir, India withdraw the illegal actions of August 5, 2019, and the implementation of the Security Council resolutions.
