PESHAWAR: Peshawar district administration lunch an operation following the directions of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa government against sugar mafia and stockpiles on Friday.
As per the details on the instructions of the higher authorities, the district administration of Peshawar and the food controller conducted an operations in Marhaba Market, Karkhano Bazaar, Peshawar to combat the recent increase in sugar prices and prevent black marketing and hoarding of essential commodities. The operation was headed by the inspection team along with the district administration included Assistant Food Controller Shahid Ali, Additional Assistant Commissioner Haroon Saleem, and Food Inspector Shahid Safi.
According to details during this operation, about 800 to 900 bags of sugar were recovered which were kept for black marketing. The shop owner was arrested, while his business area including the shop has been sealed, and an FIR has also been registered in the relevant police station for further legal action.
