Islamabad, parts of KP hit by heavy rains

ISLAMABAD/Rawalpindi: Heavy rains with strong winds and thunderstorms hit the twin cities on [date], breaking the intense heatwave but causing waterlogging in low-lying areas.

The downpour provided much-needed relief from the scorching weather, particularly in Islamabad sectors G6, F6, F7, I8, Bani Gala, and Bhara Kahu, as well as Rawalpindi’s Faizabad, Shamsabad, and Khanna Pul. However, several roads were inundated, disrupting traffic flow.

The Met Office forecasts more rain in upper and central Pakistan until August 8. Authorities have been directed to ensure proper drainage to minimize public inconvenience.
