Rescue operation underway after emerald mine collapse in Swat

The rescue operation was underway in Swat after an emerald mine collapsed in the area.

Shafiqa Gul, spokesperson for the Rescue 1122, Swat, told Pakhtun Digital that the Rescue 1122 Swat had received information that an emerald mine in the Malookabad area had suddenly collapsed, resulting in several people being trapped inside.
She said as soon as the information was received, the Disaster Response Team of Rescue 1122, under the supervision of the District Emergency Officer Swat, reached the scene, and the rescue operation was immediately started.
According to the rescue officials, four trained mine rescuers of “Rescue 1122” are currently inside the mine and are busy trying to reach and pull out the affected people. Due to their professional skills and passion, the rescue operation is being expedited.
Along with this, emergency help has also been sought from other nearby mines and areas to make the rescue operation more effective and faster. Work is underway at the accident site with full readiness with modern equipment, ambulances, medical teams and other relief equipment.
