PESHAWAR: Ehsanullah Miankhel, a member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has raised serious concerns over alleged financial and environmental irregularities at Bacha Khan University in Charsadda over the past two years.
In a notice submitted to the provincial assembly, Miankhel claimed that hundreds of trees were illegally cut down on the university’s premises and sold without any auction or proper record. He also accused the university administration of large-scale financial mismanagement, including ghost payments, misuse of fuel for government vehicles, and corruption in supply orders and development projects.
Miankhel stated that these actions not only amount to administrative and financial corruption but also violate environmental laws, damaging both the province’s educational reputation and its ecosystem.
He demanded that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government immediately form a high-level investigation committee to conduct a transparent and impartial inquiry and take legal action against those responsible.
The allegations have sparked calls for accountability, with concerns growing over governance and transparency in public sector universities. No immediate response has been issued by the university administration or the provincial government.
