MASTUNG: Three Pakistan Army soldiers, including a major, were martyred in a terrorist attack in Mastung district, Balochistan, the military’s media wing, ISPR, said on Wednesday.

The attack took place on the night between August 5 and 6, 2025, when terrorists from Fitna-ul-Hindustan, an Indian-backed militant group, detonated a remote-controlled bomb targeting a security forces’ vehicle.

The martyred soldiers included Major Muhammad Rizwan Tahir (31, Narowal), a brave officer who led multiple counter-terrorism operations, along with Naik Ibne-e-Amin (37, Swabi) and Lance Naik Muhammad Younis (33, Karak).

Security forces immediately launched a search operation, killing four terrorists linked to the attack. The clearance operation is still ongoing to eliminate any remaining threats in the area.

The ISPR stated that the Pakistan Army is determined to root out terrorism sponsored by foreign actors, adding that the sacrifices of these soldiers only strengthen the nation’s resolve.

No further details about the terrorists’ identities were released. The attack highlights the ongoing security challenges in Balochistan, where militant groups remain active.
