PESHAWAR: Election Commission of Pakistan(ECP) has directed the Heads of all political parties to submit their consolidated statements of accounts for the financial year 2024-25 ending June 2025 to the Election Commission on or before 29 August 2025 as per sections 204 and 210 of the Election Act, 2017 and rules 159 and 160 of the Election Rules, 2017.
It is to be noted that section 210 of the Election Act, 2017 states that a political party shall submit to the Commission, within sixty days of the end of the financial year, its statement in Form-D with the details recorded by a chartered accountant.
The statement should include annual income and expenditure, Sources of funding, Assets and liabilities, details to be submitted to the Election Commission, an Audit report of the political party issued by a Chartered Accountant, and signed by the party head and authorised officer, certifying that the party has not received any funds from sources prohibited under the Election Act, 2017, the returns contain correct information about the financial position of the party.
The details of the returns should be submitted in Form D as per the Election Act, 2017. Printed forms are available free of cost at the offices of the Election Commission Secretariat, Islamabad and the Provincial Election Commissioners, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The Performa and Form-D for sources of funds are also available on the ECP website.
It stated further that overwriting in the form is not acceptable, and the membership/certificate issued by ICAP in respect of the auditor should be included in Form-D, along with the last valid renewal certificate.
A copy of the bank statement of each bank for the period 01.07.2024 to 30.06.2025 should also be provided along with Form D. The said statement/form shall be delivered in the name of the Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan, Shahrah-e-Dastur, Sector G-VIII/II Islamabad by a party official duly authorized by the party chief as per Rule 156 of the Election Rules 2017.
