Pakistan secured a thrilling 5-wicket victory against West Indies in the first ODI of their three-match series, thanks to a brilliant debut performance by Hasan Nawaz, who scored 63 runs off 54 balls and was named Player of the Match.
The 22-year-old opener, who plays for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has quickly made a name for himself in international cricket. Earlier this year, he smashed a 45-ball 105 in a T20I against New Zealand, becoming only the second Pakistani batter after Babar Azam to score centuries in both PSL and T20Is in the same year.
Nawaz was also a standout performer in PSL 2025, helping Quetta Gladiators secure crucial wins with his aggressive batting. His consistent performances earned him a spot in Pakistan’s squad for the Bangladesh and West Indies series.
