Pakistan Tehreak-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has clearly stated that Sher Afzal Marwat is not a part of the party. His statement came at a time when news of consultations regarding Marwat’s possible return were circulating within the party.
Consultations were held on the issue of Sher Afzal Marwat’s return to the party in a recent parliamentary party meeting. Some members said that Sher Afzal’s position should also be heard, while Asad Qaiser, Shehryar Afridi and Nisar Jatt supported his return.
According to parliamentary sources, Sher Afzal Marwat took the position that if criticism or allegations come against him from within the party, he will be forced to respond. However, the members present in the meeting asked him to remain silent for the time being so that matters do not deteriorate further.
Contrary to these ongoing consultations within the party, Salman Akram Raja clearly declared that “Sher Afzal Marwat is not a member of PTI, and he has no connection with the party.” This statement reflects that the return of Sher Afzal Marwat has not been accepted at the party leadership level for the time being.
