PESHAWAR: (PAKHTUN ENGLISH) On the instructions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur and in line with the vision of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan for a “Digital Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Science & Technology and Information Technology Dr. Shafqat Ayaz said the provincial government is committed to providing digital facilities to the public. For this purpose, free public Wi-Fi will be made available at all public places across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, such as general bus stands, bazaars, public parks, and other important locations.
In this regard, Dr. Shafqat Ayaz held an important meeting with the Director General of Science & Technology to discuss the details and implementation of the project.
Dr. Shafqat Ayaz stated that in the first phase, as a pilot project, free Wi-Fi service will be launched in Peshawar. He clarified that in places where government offices or government entities are located, the provincial government will not directly provide the service. Instead, the respective institutions will arrange the facility from their own funds.
For example, if a hospital requires this facility, the hospital administration will provide free Wi-Fi to the public from its own budget, while at other public places, the government will directly ensure the provision of the service.

He directed the relevant departments to maintain close coordination for the timely and transparent completion of the project so that, under the vision of Chairman Imran Khan and the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can set a new benchmark in digital development.
