Shaniera Akram, wife of cricket legend Wasim Akram, has publicly called out actress Hania Amir for “irresponsible behavior” after the star shared a viral video of herself dancing while standing on a moving motorcycle.
The controversy erupted when Hania posted a clip showing her swinging on the back seat of a motorbike, dancing to music without safety gear. The video drew widespread criticism online, prompting Shaniera – a longtime road safety advocate – to react strongly on Instagram.
“Celebrities and influencers must show responsibility,” Shaniera stated. “For years, I’ve campaigned for road safety. When public figures share reckless acts, millions of followers may imitate them, risking lives.”
She clarified having no personal issue with Hania and expressed relief the actress wasn’t injured. However, she emphasized that such content normalizes dangerous behavior.
Public reaction largely supported Shaniera’s stance. Comments flooded social media, with users calling Hania “an attention-seeking slob” and warning parents to “shield children from her influence.” One user bluntly endorsed Shaniera: “She’s absolutely right here.”
The backlash highlights growing scrutiny over celebrities’ social media impact amid concerns about normalizing unsafe stunts.
