PESHAWAR: The High Court has disposed of the case by accepting the application to remove Senator Azam Swati’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL) and Passport Control List (PCL).
This decision was given by a division bench comprising Justice Syed Arshad Ali and Justice Dr. Khurshid Iqbal. During the hearing, Azam Swati’s lawyer Ali Azeem Afaridi told the court that Azam Swati was scheduled to go abroad at 9:00 am on August 13, but he was not being allowed to travel due to his name being included in the ECL and PCL.
The lawyer also told the court that despite the court’s order, he was not allowed to go to the airport, on which the court summoned a representative of the FIA.
On this occasion, the Assistant Attorney General informed the court that Azam Swati’s name is no longer included in any exit control list or passport control list, and he is allowed to travel abroad without any hindrance.
The FIA representative also assured the court that Azam Swati can now travel abroad without any hindrance. After hearing this position, the court disposed of Senator Azam Swati’s application and paved the way for his travel abroad.
