In Nowshera, citizens staged intense protests after the deadline given to WAPDA officials in the Pirpai area expired. The protesters took to the streets, raised slogans, and refused to open the GT Road until their demands were addressed. Efforts were made to engage in talks during the protest, but no satisfactory progress was achieved, leading to heightened anger among the crowd.
The police responded by using tear gas and shelling to disperse the protesters. Residents accused the police of using excessive force, claiming several individuals, including Uzair from Azakhel, were injured during the operation.
Conversely, police stated that the protesters threw stones, resulting in serious injuries to Officer Adnan. To restore order, police detained around two dozen individuals, including Jamaat-e-Islami Nowshera District Deputy Ameer Arshad Anwar and ANP leader Irfan Ghafoor, transporting them to an undisclosed location.
