KP CM announces Rs 75,000 relief package for each affected family in Bajaur

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, has confirmed that the government will provide financial assistance to families who voluntarily leave their homes due to the law and order situation.

The Chief Minister said that the government is not in favour of any kind of operation or displacement; however, in the current circumstances, if citizens are migrating for their safety, then taking care of them is the government’s top priority.

Each family that voluntarily migrates will be given Rs 50,000 initially. After the targeted operation is completed, additional assistance of Rs 25,000 per family will also be given to the affected families.

Thus, a total of Rs 75,000 will be provided to each affected family. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur further said that the government will not leave the people alone and every effort will be made to ensure the rehabilitation, return and immediate fulfilment of the needs of the affected.

The Chief Minister clarified that this step is not being taken as a result of any coercion or government operation, but keeping in mind the safety of the citizens. He said, “We are not in favour of operations or forced displacement, but we must help those who have been forced to leave their homes on their own.”

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is also taking steps to improve security, ensure rehabilitation works and provide basic facilities in the affected areas. All relevant institutions have been alerted so that timely assistance and facilities can be provided to the affected families.
