PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has achieved significant success in its ongoing counter-terrorism operations and arrested the terrorist group involved in the murder of Mufti Munir Shakir.
According to the details released by the CTD, the mystery of the murder of Mufti Munir Shakir has been solved, and the terrorists involved in this serious incident have been arrested.
The agency says that the detained group has also been involved in 18 terrorist acts in Peshawar. According to the authorities, this group was also found to be involved in the target killing of 14 police personnel, including DSP Sardar Hussain Khan.
The CTD says that on the identification of the arrested suspects, possible attacks on sensitive places were foiled, while a large quantity of arms and explosives were also recovered.
It was further revealed that this group was active in the target killing of clerics and was associated with the ISIS Khorasan network, which has now been dismantled.
The perpetrators of the suicide attack in Peshawar on May 11 have also been arrested.
The CTD also said that the weapons used in various terrorist attacks in the province were found to be similar, confirming the involvement of the same network.
