PESHAWAR: Like other parts of the country Nation celebrates 78th Independence Day with traditional zeal and fervour in Peshawar, Abbottabad and Khyber, where flag hoisting ceremonies were held while special prayers were offered for peace, prosperity and Development of the country.
Flag hoisting ceremony was held in Peshawar High Court where Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court Justice SM Atiq Shah hoisted the flag along with setting and retired judges of Peshawar High Court, District and Sessions Judges, Mamran of KP Bar Council, Advocate General and lawyers participated in the ceremony School children and teachers also participated in the ceremony while national anthem was played in the ceremony, salute was given to the national flag.
A grand ceremony was held at the Assistant Commissioner’s Office on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day in Jamrud Tehsil of Khyber District. The ceremony began with the hoisting of the national flag, after which the Independence Day cake was cut. The participants participated in a walk from the Tehsil Office to the historic Bab-e-Khyber with national enthusiasm. During the walk, the participants held the national flag and expressed their love and solidarity with their beloved homeland.
The ceremony was attended by Assistant Commissioner Jamrud Fahad Zia, Additional Assistant Commissioner Naseem Ali Shah, Tehsil Chairman Haji Azmat Khan, TMO Zubair Afridi, local elders, local government representatives, representatives of various government departments and a large number of people of the area.
At the end of the ceremony, special prayers were offered for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and the development and prosperity of the country. Speaking on the occasion, the speakers said that freedom is a great blessing and only those who are in the chains of slavery can know its value. He said that we should protect this freedom by remembering the sacrifices of our elders and working unitedly for the development and progress of the country. Peshawar
At the Nathia Gali Club, Galiyat Development Authority Director Administration Fawad Khattak, Director Technical Engineer Arsalan Shaukat, Assistant Director GDA and hardworking staff hoisted the national flag and grandly celebrated Pakistan’s Independence Day.
On this occasion, GDA officials also planted saplings with the resolve of a green and lush Pakistan. Expressing their resolve to continue the tree plantation campaign in Galiyat, the officials said that this initiative is not only helpful in protecting the environment but also a means of highlighting the importance of tree plantation among the public.
They said that to make every Independence Day meaningful, we should plant a sapling and take a step towards a clean and green Pakistan. Ceremonies also held in all district administration headquarters like Buner, Swat, Dir, Chitral, Mohmand, South Waziristan, North Waziristan and Haripur.
