Kuwait eases visa procedures for families of Pakistani immigrants

Kuwait
Kuwait has taken a major step towards removing the minimum income requirement for foreign residents to invite their families on visit visas. The decision aims to further strengthen family ties and make the country’s visa policy more flexible.

According to Colonel Abdulaziz Al-Kandari, from the Electronic Services Administration at the General Residency Department, the requirement that foreigners meet a certain salary threshold to invite their relatives has been removed for years. Now, anyone legally residing in Kuwait can invite their family members for a visit, regardless of their income level.
The new policy also expands the list of relatives eligible for visit visas. Now, close relatives up to the fourth degree and in-laws up to the third degree will also be able to benefit from this facility. This move has made it possible for distant families to come to Kuwait.
Another major change is that visitors are no longer required to travel exclusively via Kuwait’s national airline. This restriction has also been lifted on the instructions of Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, after which visitors with a visit visa can now travel to Kuwait via any airline, land or sea. Colonel Al-Kandari explained that all these changes are part of the vision to promote family reunion and make the visa process more convenient and humane so that people living in Kuwait can stay close to their loved ones.
