In connection with Marka-e-Haq and Independence Day 2025 celebrations, the Forests, Wildlife, Environment, and Climate Change Department Hazara Region organised a grand ceremony at Thai Forest School, Abbottabad. Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Forests, Wildlife, Climate Change, and Environment, Pir Musavir Khan, graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

He stressed that valuing and safeguarding freedom is the collective responsibility of all citizens. Highlighting the challenges of climate change, he stated that large-scale afforestation is the most effective way to mitigate its adverse effects. This year, the department has set a target of planting one million saplings across the province, 40% of which are fruit-bearing, while Hazara Region has been allocated 75,000 plants.
He further emphasised that the protection of forests and wildlife largely depends on the involvement of local communities, announcing that the Forest Guards Force will continue its role in conservation efforts.
Principal of Thai Forest School, Syed Tariq Ali Shah, in his address, said that the sacrifice of martyrs gives life to a nation, and great nations never forget their heroes. He added that the institution focuses not only on professional training but also on positive physical activities to ensure that graduates play an active role in conserving natural resources.
The event was attended by trainees of Forests and Wildlife departments, students of Government Girls Degree Colleges Mandian and Nawan Shehar, and people from various walks of life.
