PESHAWAR: The Counter Terrorism Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have claimed killing of three terrorists during an operation in Regi Lalma area on Friday morning.
The CTD (Counter-Terrorism Department) said that they conducted a large-scale operation against Fitna-ul-Kharij in the Regi Lalma area of Peshawar, during which 3 terrorists were killed. They said that the slain included Afghan national terrorist Abdullah alias Jawad, who was wanted in several terrorist incidents.
Abdullah alias Jawad was involved in 18 terrorist attacks in Peshawar, in which 12 police and FC personnel were martyred, while many others were injured. Five police personnel, including DSP Sardar Hussain, two FC personnel and other soldiers were targeted in these attacks.
CTD officials said that the group of slain terrorists was involved in burning police mobiles, extortion, IED explosions and firing incidents. The group belonged to a TTP cell and was planning more terrorist attacks with foreign handlers and funding.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the CTD for its successful operation and said that the elimination of Indian-backed terrorists is a major achievement of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police.
