CTD arrested four terrorists in DI Khan, explosives recovered

PESHAWAR: Counter Terrorism Police Dera Ismail Khan arrested four terrorists and recovered a heavy cache of weapons from their possession on Friday.

District Police Officer Dera Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada, along with SP City Dera Iftikhar Ali Shah, SP City Ali Hamza, SP Paharpur Asad Ali Shah, briefed the media that on a tip-off, CTD Unit Dera Ismail Khan, District Police Dera and personnel of sensitive agencies jointly conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in the Mithi Bagwani area of Police Station Gomal University.

During the operation, 04 terrorists of the banned organisation Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (Bali Khyara Group) were arrested. They were identified 1. Umar Farooq, son of Fida Hussain, resident of Bhattisar Tehsil Parwa, Asif Ali Umar, son of Hafiz Falak Sher Chauhan, resident of Umar Farooq Town, Hasnain Muawiya, son of Muhammad Suleman, resident of Parwa, Hidayatullah, son of Muhammad Naseer Baloch, resident of Garhmat

The arrested miscreants had planned to carry out a terrorist act on the occasion of the 14th August celebrations. Arms, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the possession of the arrested terrorists. Ready IED with equipment and magnet AC/DC circuit, Prima Card, Single-shot pistol 9MM, Single-shot 30 bore Mauser in the form of SMG rifle (Pakistani made),03 magazines, 28 cartridges, 03 hand grenades and other materials.
