Swat flood peak passes Charsadda unharmed, heads for Nowshera

water level rise

CHARSADDA: Authorities have successfully averted a major flood threat on the Swat River. Crucially, water flow at the key Munda point has significantly decreased, dropping from a high of 125,000 cusecs down to 85,000 cusecs.

This reduction brought relief to Charsadda district, where floodwaters passed through without causing any reported loss of life or property. However, the flood situation remains active.

The floodwaters have now moved downstream from Charsadda and are heading towards Nowshera district. While some water entered the village at Bela number four, officials report that timely measures were implemented, and the situation there is currently under control.

Administrative and emergency services remain on full alert across the affected areas. Authorities are conducting constant monitoring, especially in low-lying regions vulnerable to flooding, as the water continues its course.
