MALAKAND: A tragic incident took place at the house of Mufti Kifayatullah, the district ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Malakand, where the peaceful environment of the house turned into mourning due to his son’s firing.
According to Levies officials, the incident took place in the Batkhela area of Malakand where Mufti Kifayatullah’s son opened fire over a domestic dispute. As a result of the firing, Mufti Kifayatullah was seriously injured, while his son and daughter died. His wife was also injured in the firing.
The accused fled the scene after the firing, and the police and Levies have cordoned off the area and started a search operation to find him.
The bodies of the deceased and the injured were immediately shifted to DHQ Hospital Batkhela. According to hospital sources, Mufti Kifayatullah’s condition is now out of danger.
An atmosphere of grief and sorrow has prevailed in the area after the incident. Local and central leaders of JUI have expressed grief over the incident and demanded justice.
