BUNER: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced Rs2 million compensation for the families of those who lost their lives in Buner after the recent cloudburst and flash floods.
During his visit to the affected areas, the CM reviewed the destruction and said restoring access roads was a top priority. He noted that while human loss is irreplaceable, financial assistance would be extended to help families recover from damages.
At a briefing in the Deputy Commissioner’s office, officials reported that floods had damaged 5,380 houses across seven village councils, leaving 209 dead, 134 missing, and 159 injured.
The chief minister is scheduled to continue visiting flood-hit regions today. Additional helicopters have also been requested to speed up relief and rescue operations. Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan expressed gratitude to the provincial government for supporting the people of Buner during this crisis.
