BAJAUR: A policeman in Bajaur has been suspended for misbehaving with internally displaced persons (IDPs). The incident occurred at the Atmankhel registration point, established specifically for registering Mamund tribe IDPs.
District Police Officer (DPO) Bajaur confirmed the suspension of Constable Ismatullah and issued a strong statement regarding the treatment of displaced populations. “IDPs are our brothers and sisters,” the DPO emphasized, adding that “any kind of misbehavior or irresponsible behavior towards them will not be tolerated.”
Highlighting the vulnerability of those displaced, the DPO stated, “The victims are already facing difficulties. Sympathy and cooperation with them is our first duty.” The registration center in Atmankhel has been operational for several days as part of the ongoing process to assist the Mamund IDPs.
