Earthquake shakes KP and Rawalpindi

Earthquake tremors strike Swat, surrounding areas Residents of Swat and Mingora felt earthquake tremors on March 5. Many people rushed out of homes and buildings in fear. No casualties or property damage have been reported. The seismic center recorded a 4.2 magnitude quake. It had a depth of 64 kilometers. The epicenter was in the Hindu Kush mountains. This region is known for frequent seismic activity. The tremors were brief but strong enough to cause panic. Just a week ago, strong tremors hit Islamabad, Peshawar, and other parts of KP. People fled buildings and recited prayers during that quake too.

PESHAWAR: Earthquake tremors were felt in Peshawar and several northern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Tuesday morning, causing panic among residents who rushed out of their homes and workplaces.

According to local reports, the quake was experienced in Rawalpindi, Abbottabad, Charsadda, Chitral, Haripur, Malakand, Batkhela and surrounding areas. The jolts were mild but strong enough to be felt across multiple cities, prompting precautionary evacuations in some localities.

Authorities have not reported any casualties or major damage from the tremors. However, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has urged residents to remain cautious and follow safety guidelines in case of aftershocks.
